Dr Olushola 'Rasak Sotayo, The man with numerous noble and Chieftaincy titles from far and near has recently disclosed why in his public and private lives he has always romanced activities of the Media cum journalists in the society. He said he identified journalists as a sector in the nation to be reckoned with minding the fact that they are usually the only public eye the masses rely on to know what is going on in he nation and the world entirely.
Chief Borokini nicknamed 'Solebo' added he usually disdained people running away from embracing journalists friendship,said it must have been due to the facts that they might not really understand the importance of the profession by downplaying the crucial roles they played in society.
Dr Sotayo Addressing the Union
Chief Borokini of OTA Awori kingdom further furnished the team of journalists from the NUJ, Independent Online Chapter of Ado-Odo Ota led by Comrade Kayode Taiwo,who paid him a courtesy visits that if by any chance as a leader in the transportation sector,any journalists writes any incriminating story about himself or his organisation's activities,he stated there is no need to establish any room of fight with such but would agreed he must have written from the perspective of information or data available for him at such moments,added he would rather reach out to such writer to let out his own fashion of the story for a complete reportage,he said. "I don't believe in fighting journalists for writing stories about myself or the Union in bad light but would rather call for opportunity to relays my own sides of the event for clarity and balance'' He said.
The national President of the Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN), a national Union which is the umbrella body of the entire commercial Motorcycle operators in the nation further exposed the extent of his passion for the work of journalists informed his decision to ensure he has a child in the profession of Journalism by all means.
" I have decided to ensure one of my children study mass communication in order to become a Journalist subsequently" he excitedly declared.
Dr Sotayo was in the midst of some of the Community stakeholders of Chief, Ismail Sotayo,the Agba-Akin of Iju-Ota,Com.Abdulahi Sanbulala, Com Adeyanju Isaac,Alfa Usman Abdulahi (Seriki) and others while warmly welcoming the Journalist courtesy visit to his base.
MUON President concluded he encouraged the society to stop seeing people in journalism and the Media sector as bad sheep of the society but to continue to acknowledged the enormity of the task they performed for the general masses in news and information dispensing, such a decision he has taken to continue his relationship with the only sector in any economy with oversight function to the leadership at any sector in the world.
