LarryBash2027: 485-Man Grassroots Mobilized, Targets 300,000 Votes in Ado-Odo/Ota

The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, Hon. Olanrewaju Abayomi Bashorun, popularly known as LarryBash, has unveiled a 485-member community practitioners’ structure as part of his grassroots mobilisation strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bashorun said the initiative, tagged “Operation 300K Votes Target,” was designed to strengthen direct engagement with residents across the wards and polling units of the federal constituency and create a structured channel for communicating with communities.
According to him, the initiative is driven by the need to move political engagement beyond rallies and campaign gatherings to sustained interaction with residents and community stakeholders.
He explained that the 485 practitioners would operate at community level, listening to residents, identifying issues affecting their communities, providing voter and civic information and communicating grassroots concerns to the appropriate political structures.
Bashorun said the 300,000-vote target was an organisational objective which would require sustained grassroots engagement rather than relying solely on election-period activities.
“A target must be measured rather than merely announced. We intend to monitor our grassroots activities through ward and polling-unit reports, voter education activities, community meetings and feedback from the field,” he said.
He stressed that the official election result would ultimately remain the authoritative measure of votes cast.
The APC candidate said his mobilisation strategy would deliberately engage youths, women, artisans, traders, professionals and community leaders, noting that each group had a role to play in the development of Ado-Odo/Ota.
He said the structure would also provide opportunities for residents to communicate concerns relating to roads, drainage, electricity, water, healthcare, education, employment, security and the business environment.
Bashorun, who emerged as the APC candidate for the federal constituency after the party’s primary election in May 2026, said effective representation should involve more than attracting projects.
He pledged that, if elected, he would prioritise constituency development, infrastructure and connectivity, youth and skills development, support for small businesses and artisans, educational opportunities and healthcare interventions.
He also promised to maintain regular communication with constituents through constituency engagements and mechanisms for documenting requests, tracking interventions and reporting progress.
According to him, representation in the National Assembly should also involve active participation in legislative debates, oversight and policy discussions affecting the constituency and the country.
On the conduct of the 2027 elections, Bashorun called for peaceful and lawful political participation, saying political differences should not be allowed to destroy relationships within communities.
He urged the 485 practitioners to avoid violence, intimidation, inflammatory statements and other conduct capable of undermining the electoral process.
“Political parties are temporary platforms, while our communities remain. After elections, neighbours, friends, families and businesses will continue to coexist,” he said.
Bashorun also appealed to undecided voters and other residents to examine the programmes, records and proposals of candidates before making their electoral choices.
He said voters should ask questions, listen to competing candidates and participate actively and peacefully in the democratic process.
The unveiling of the 485-member structure represents another layer in Bashorun’s grassroots organisation in Ado-Odo/Ota. It follows his earlier mobilisation initiative involving 655 polling booth-level organisers, which he presented as part of his effort to establish a community-based political network.
Bashorun said the effectiveness of the new structure would not be measured by numbers alone but by the ability of its members to listen to residents, communicate responsibly and remain active in their communities.
He charged the practitioners to see their appointment as a responsibility rather than merely a political title.
“Listen to the people, respect different opinions, avoid inflammatory conduct and communicate information responsibly. If we are going to build a stronger constituency, it must be built on engagement, peaceful participation, accountability and service to the people,” he said.
