As Ogun State political atmosphere getting tensed , the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial Candidates, Sen. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola fondly called Yayi leaves no stone untouched, moving from one stakeholders cocoon to another, yesterday Friday the 25th September 2026 was scheduled for a fourth realm of the estates courtesy visit at where he Unveils his people oriented agendas in the Gateway State come 2027.
The Iwe Iroyin Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, became the epicenter of intense political engagement on Friday, September 25, 2026, as the union hosted Senator Solomon Adeola (popularly known as Yayi) for an interactive session ahead of the council’s upcoming Press Week and 50th Golden Jubilee celebration.
During the event, the Ogun NUJ officially honoured Senator Adeola as Golden Jubilee Ambassador and presented him with a special recognition award. In appreciation, the Senator who serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and is the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate pledged N60m in financial support and a brand-new operational bus to the council.
The event, which commenced at 4:23 PM, was attended by Senator Yayi alongside his running mate, Mrs. Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, their entourage, and several prominent Ogun State politicians.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Ogun State NUJ Council, Comrade Adewale Olanrewaju, outlined the press council’s pressing needs while highlighting major achievements and pending projects under his administration. Comrade Adewale officially presented the council’s development blueprint to the lawmaker, Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi.
Responding to the journalists, Senator Yayi unveiled his nine-point agenda tagged “ITESIWAJU” (Progress), promising wholistic socio-economic and infrastructural growth for the state across key sectors including education, health, agriculture, security, sports, and urban development.

Industrial Quotas & Corporate Presence:
Senator Yayi expressed concern over Ogun State’s untapped economic potential. He promised to negotiate employment quotas with major industries located in the state to ensure local graduates secure middle- and top-tier management positions. He also pledged to ensure companies operating in Ogun move their regional headquarters from Lagos to Abeokuta to boost local tax revenue.
Vocational Education & Youth
Empowerment:
The Senator emphasized prioritizing skill acquisition, promising that technical school graduates will be equipped with tools to start businesses and employ others.
Sports Development:
To revive Ogun State’s lagging sports performance, Yayi pledged to re-introduce the annual Governor’s Cup and revitalize the state’s dormant football club.
New Town Development:
Pointing to sprawling shanties along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway corridor, Yayi promised targeted demolition of illegal structures and the creation of modern, planned communities modeled after Lekki and Victoria Garden City (VGC) in Lagos.
Agricultural Off-Taking:
Building on his previous distribution of over 40 tractors to local farmers, Yayi committed to introducing mechanized farming and establishing a state off-taking scheme to guarantee year round food security.
Security & LocalGovernment Autonomy:
Yayi promised to establish a State Security Trust Fund funded partly through lotteries and corporate contributions. He also pledged immediate autonomy for local government councils from day one of his administration.
Transport Infrastructure:
Plans were outlined to partner with the Nigerian Railway Corporation to link Ogun State rail lines with Lagos, while introducing modern mass transit buses with ticketing terminals covering routes such as Abeokuta–Sango-Ota, Abeokuta–Sagamu, and Abeokuta–Ilaro
Concluding his address, Senator Yayi commended the incumbent governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his developmental strides, assuring the audience that his administration would build upon those achievements to ensure continuity and sustained progress for Ogun State.
