FINAL BURIAL PARTY FOR HON. BOLATITO LADEGA BALOGUN

Late Hon. Bolatito Oladega Balogun 

Egbeda, Lagos was agog on Monday 21st September 2026, as family, friends, political associates and market leaders gathered for the final funeral party and reception in honour of the late foremost Iyanapaja market leader, Hon. Bolatito Oladega Balogun.

The late political and market icon died and was buried on Monday, 14th September, 2026, in accordance with Islamic rites.

The Party, held at the Iceland Civic Centre, Banire, Egbeda, attracted a large turnout who came to pay their last respects to the septuagenarian for her immense social and community service to Alimosho Local Government and Lagos State at large.

Guests came in white dresses with royal blue and pink gele, Recall, earlier that Alimosho Local Government executive Chairman,Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson also released an official mourning signed notice, praising her as a committed market and community leader. 

For her appraised commitment towards markets development, Alimosho Markets and traders activities were shut down on her burial day while the Iyana'paja market Complex too was shut on 21st September 2026.

Late Hon. Bolatito was renowned for her trailblazing political career as the first female Councillor in the old Alimosho Local Government under the defunct Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN). She cut her political niche under the administration of former Lagos State Governor, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande.

For her social, market and educational contributions, she initiated the establishment of multiple markets, Schools, Public library and refurbished dilapidated ones under the leadership of Late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, the Iyaloja-General and mother of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Tributes poured in at the event as guests and family members reminisced on her commitment to humanity, market development and grassroots politics in Alimosho and Lagos State.

Guests and attendees were treated to sumptuous entertainment, while a prominent Fuji musician, Haruna Ishola's band, thrilled the gathering with melodious tunes to the delight of all
