Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola's path to Oke-Mosan in 2027 is not as smooth as his philanthropy suggests, veteran journalist Babajide Otitoju has warned.
At the Prestige Excellence 10th Anniversary Lecture in Ikeja, Lagos, Otitoju said despite Yayi's dominance in Ogun West, two major landmines could stop him - the fallout over Senator Gbenga Daniel's Ogun East ticket and the battle for Ogun Central.
According to him, the Presidency-backed move to sacrifice Daniel's return ticket for Governor Dapo Abiodun's senatorial ambition is breeding rancour that could push Daniel's camp away from Yayi.
The only rescue card, he said, is former Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
"Yayi will need President Tinubu to broker peace with Amosun to unlock the massive Ogun Central grassroots votes. Without that, Ogun East is not guaranteed for him," Otitoju declared.
He added that while Daniel's long-time alliance with Tinubu from the NADECO days could still help settle the rift, his suspicion of a quiet understanding with PDP's Oladipupo Adebutu cannot be ruled out of the permutations. He said.
Though analysis may not be the real deal when politicking is concerns however, it often predicts likely outcome of election victory for contestants as the case may be.
