LATE PA CHIEF MICHAEL OGUNDIMU
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Ogun State election and Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Aremo Dr. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, FCA, CON (YAYI), has been thrown into mourning following the passing of the head of his family, Elder Chief Michael Adelani Ogundimu, who died in the early hours of today at the age of 85 after a brief illness.
The late Elder Chief Ogundimu was the revered head of the Onibata Family of Ago Isaga Compound, Pahayi-Yewa, Ilaro, and was widely respected for his wisdom, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of his family and community.
In a heartfelt condolence message, Senator Adeola described the deceased as the “Oloriebi of the Onibata Family”, noting that he stood firmly by him through every stage of his personal and political journey.
According to the Senator, the passing of Baba Ogundimu is an irreplaceable loss not only to the family but also to the entire Pahayi-Yewa and Isaga communities, as he was a living repository of their history and traditions.
“Baba Ogundimu, popularly known as Baba Yayi, was a great uncle to me. He constantly encouraged me as a son of the Onibata Family and was always willing to recount the genealogy and rich history of our family for generations of the Isaga people.
“I will surely miss his wise counsel, fatherly guidance, and consistent encouragement to remain steadfast in the pursuit of good governance and selfless service to our people.”
Senator Adeola further recalled that the late Elder Chief Ogundimu held the traditional title of Akinrogun of Pahayi-Yewa and also served his community diligently as a former Councilor representing Ilaro Ward 1 in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed elder’s soul and asked God Almighty to grant the entire Onibata family, the Ago Isaga Compound, and all loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear the painful and irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, members of the Onibata family, residents of Ago Isaga Compound, and the people of Pahayi-Yewa have continued to receive sympathizers following the announcement of the demise of the respected community leader.
The passing of Elder Chief Michael Adelani Ogundimu marks the end of an era, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, service, wisdom, and devotion to family and community that will be remembered for generations
