A 32-year-old security guard, who allegedly cashed in on the naivity of a hapless teenage girl to sexually molest her, has bitten more than he could chew.
The suspect, Abraham Aneka, currently in the Ogun State Police custody, aside from allegedly defiling the 16-year-old girl, was also alleged of intimidating and attempting to dispossess the victim of valuables in her possession.
His arrest in the Abule-Ijoko area in the early hours of June 10, 2026, was on the strength of a complaint lodged at Agbado Division by the family members of the victim, alleging that on the night of June 9, 2026, the teenage girl was on her way home when the suspect accosted her.
He was said to had threatened her with a locally-made single-barrel gun, before forcibly taking her to his residence at Abule-Ijoko.
"Upon receipt of the complaint, detectives of Agbado Division immediately launched a coordinated response. The suspect was promptly tracked, arrested, and the firearm allegedly used in the commission of the crime was recovered. The scene of the incident was also visited as part of ongoing investigative procedures," the command's Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said in a statement
The statement further disclosed that a preliminary investigation indicated that the suspect allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor without her consent and further attempted to dispossess her of her belongings, adding the victim was thereafter issued with a medical form and taken to a hospital for medical examination and treatment.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran in Abeokuta, for discreet and comprehensive investigation, while the suspect remains in custody, pending the conclusion of investigation and subsequent prosecution.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, reiterated the command’s zero-tolerance for sexual and gender-based violence, especially offences against minors, assuring residents that the command would ensure diligent prosecution and justice in line with extant laws.
The CP further urged parents, guardians, and members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report cases of abuse, violence, or suspicious activity to nearest police formations, while further assuring that all reports would be treated with urgency and professionalism.
