OGUN @ 50 CELEBRATION : TRACE RELEASES TRAFFIC DIVERSIONS AND GUIEDELINES

 




 

 This is to notify the general public, particularly the motoring public that Ogun state, the Gateway state, is celebrating her fiftieth (50th) anniversary from Monday, 2nd February, 2026 - Thursday, 5th February, 2026, with series of activities lined up to commemorate the milestone event.

Consequently, in view of the high volume of human and vehicular traffic the august occasion will generate, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, hereby informs the motoring public that there would be diversion of traffic on some routes, while other routes will be blocked for some hours, particularly within the Central Business District (CBD) of Abeokuta, the state capital on Thursday, 5th February, 2026, during the Cultural and Carnival/Float Parade, which will round off the fiftieth (50th) anniversary celebration.

ROUTES TO BE DIVERTED.

✓ Take off point @ the 2nd gate of the government house.

- Traffic from Sapon/Imo/Grammar School inbound Ibara under bridge will be diverted @ Liberty Junction into Okeyeke-Amolaso to continue there journey from there.
- Traffic from Oke-Mosan inbound kuto via the bridge will be diverted @ SWAT Junction- NNPC-Iyana/Mortuary and continue there journey from there.
- Traffic from Ita-Eko via the bridge inbound Lalubu/Oke-llewo will be diverted towards UBA Bank  to go under the bridge to continue there journey from there. However, traffic towards Panseke from Ita-Eko should have a thoroughfare via the front of Domino Pizza.
- Traffic from Iyana-Mortuary trying to access Kuto will be diverted towards Olorombo, and continue there journey from there, while those going towards Oke-Mosan, Laderin, Kobape/Interchange should have a thoroughfare via NNPC under bridge.
- Traffic from Mapoly-Onikolobo towards Ibara under bridge will be diverted towards Oluwo to continue there journey from there.

ROUTES TO BE BLOCKED.

✓ MTD Junction.
✓ Jide Jones Road.( Omida)
✓ Iyana Ijeja. (Omida)
✓ Idi-Ishin. ( Omida)
✓ Opening in front of Eco and Fidelity Banks. (Omida)
✓ Opening beside Con Oil Filling Station. (Omida)
✓ Ibara Under Bridge.
✓ Saint Benedect Entrance. (Lalubu Gate))
✓ Access Road Beside Rojabs(Lalubu)
✓ Tego Access Road Before OPIC. (Lalubu)
✓ Old Governor's Office Road.
✓Sweet Sensation Road.
✓ Zone 2.
✓ GTB Junction.
✓ Kuto under bridge.
✓ Entrance of Park Inn Raddisson Hotel.
✓ NNPC under bridge turning inbound MKO Sports Arena.
✓ SWAT Junction towards the NNPC bridge.

However, it must emphasized that the routes been blocked is to enable a thoroughfare for the Cultural and Carnival/Float Parade Motorcade Convoy, which will only last for about an hour. Moreover, it is expected that the motoring public would also be part of the enthusiasm to be generated through the passage of the convoy and its value chain.

Nevertheless, operatives of TRACE, ditto other security and safety agencies would be at the different diversion and blocked routes to regulate and control traffic, ascertain orderliness, as well as ensure motorists adhere to lay down rules of engagement that guides safety and guarantee security.

Furthermore, the motoring public are also admonished to be orderly and obey parking regulations and guidelines, while inside the MKO SPORTS ARENA, so as to avoid vehicles being clamped and sanctioned for traffic infraction(s).

Nonetheless, any inconveniences experienced as a result of the route diversion and blockage is highly regretted.
