Ogun Governor,Dapo Abiodun Visits Tollgate Accident Scenes....sends Condolence To Families Of Accidents Victims

 

Aftermath of the horrible accident encounters at the Otta toll-Gate the Ogun State Executive Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in a road accident at Tollgate, along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway in Ota, yesterday February 17, 2026.

The Governor spoke through his Deputy, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele during a visit to the tragic motor accident scene today morning at the ever-busy expressway.

It was gathered that the accident  claiming six lives and leaving three others injured, occurred at the expressway yesterday, February 17 at about 0932hrs.

She said Governor Abiodun has expressed profound sorrow and regret over the tragic incident, describing the incident as a “profound tragedy” and has extended condolences to the families of the deceased.

“I, on behalf of Governor Abiodun, sympathize with all families of the deceased over the tragic death of our people.” She prayed for the repose of their souls, healing and quick recovery of those hospitalised, also warmed vehicle owners and drivers against driving mechanical imbalance vehicles on the road.

 

She directed the traffic management – TRACE, FRSC, security agencies and unions to collaborate and proffer solutions to prevent such ugly incident from occuring.

Olota of Olota, Oba Prof Adeyemi Obalanlege has ordered the roadside traders evacuated off the expressway, noting that anyone caught flaunting this order will made to face the consequences.

The Kabiyesi also urged all security agencies within Ado-Odo/Ota not to relent from their joint patrol exercises to enhance both security and safety rules and regulations.

The visit has the attendance of TRACE personnel, led by Ogun West Zonal Commander, Cdr Adekunle Ajibade; Ota Divisional Commander, Cdr Hammed Salau; Ota Head of Operations, Cdr Adekunle Awonowo; Navy Music Ota led by Commanding Officer, CO AA Saani; Officer Gambo. While FRSC led by Ota Unit Commander, Wasiu Ogunmefun, Police officers, So-Safe, NSCDC and Environmental Health officers.
