The Abeokuta Coral Lions Club, in partnership with the Federal College of Education (FCE) Leo Club, organized a Hunger Relief Awareness Campaign on January 29, 2026, at the FCE Osiele campus, Abeokuta.
The campaign addressed food insecurity among students through food distribution, nutritional education, and awareness talks, in line with Lions Clubs International’s hunger relief initiative under District 404B3 Nigeria.
Speaking through the Second Vice President, Lion Temitope Oyebola (NLCF), the Club President, Lion Babajide Olaleye, stated that the club remains committed to “serving where the need is greatest,” adding that the initiative was aimed at nourishing hope and strengthening students’ resilience.
The FCE Leo Club played a key role in logistics and peer awareness, ensuring effective engagement with students affected by economic hardship.
The President appreciated Lion Oloyede Abidemi (Chairman, Global Service Committee), Lion ,Hon. Ogunshina Adesina MJF, NLCF. (Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government), and Engr. Idowu Olayinka (Chairman, Springview International) for their donations of food items, as well as all club members at home and in the diaspora for their support.
The club also announced plans to establish a student-led food bank at FCE Osiele to sustain the impact of the campaign.
