Detailed emerged after the reported motor Ghastly accident which occured along Lagos Ibadan expressway in Ogun state.
The tragic road traffic crash was reportedly occurred around 1200hrs on Monday, 29th December, 2025, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, around Danco axis of Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Details at the scene reveals that a Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with registration number KRD 850 HN, while travelling from Lagos inbound Sagamu along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, experienced a tyre burst, due to excessive speed, lost control, and swerved into a stationary, unregistered DAF truck parked by the roadside.
The vehicle conveyed four (4) male occupants, comprising a driver, former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, and two other passengers, who are foreign nationals.
However, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) evacuated the two (foreign nationals) passengers who were presumed dead to Livewell Mortuary, Sagamu.
Meanwhile, the former world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua and the driver of the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) sustained injuries and were taken to an undisclosed hospital in Sagamu for medical treatment.
The accidented SUV and the stationary DAF truck has been towed to the Motor Traffic Division (MTD), Sagamu.
Nevertheless, normalcy has been restored after the evacuation of the accidented vehicles from the road as a result of the prompt and timely response of TRACE, POLICE and the FRSC.
While TRACE, POLICE and the FRSC, commiserate with the bereaved families of the deceased involved in the ghastly crash, which is a devastating loss, motorists are are again admonished to be cautious while driving and adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations, check all vehicle components before setting out on a journey as well as adopt the defensive driving technique, especially during the festive period when there is heavy flow of human and vehicular movement.
