Ota Divisional Command of Ogun State Traffic Compliance
and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) in conjunction with Bmayor
Communications, as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
provided the agency’s operatives personnel raincoats to ensure safety
and enhance visibility while working on the roads during rainy season.
Handing over the raincoats to the agency’s operatives
personnel, the Divisional Commander, Cdr Hameed Salau, on behalf of the
Ag TCC/CEO, Cdr Elias Omonayajo, said raincoats are so crucial for
maintaining visibility and safety during adverse weather conditions
while performing their duties.
He said TRACE primary function is to ensure road safety
either in the sun or wet season. So to sustain this, Ota Division found
it so necessary to provides personnel with adequate materials which
includes the raincoats to manage traffic and respond to emergencies in
any weather conditions.
In his response, Ogun West Zonal Commander, Cdr Adekunle
Ajibade expressed appreciation for the donation, highlighting that
raincoat is very essential for personnel safety and visibility.
He mandated the Divisional Commander, Cdr Salau for
prioritize the welfare of the personnel, saying the initiative will
enhance the visibility of the officers on road especially in rainy
season.
He warned the agency’s personnel to avoid extortion and
illegal practices, especially while wearing the raincoats during the
rainy season believing they would not be identified, adding that no any
officer is expected to engaged on unethical conduct while on the
uniform.
He said every raincoats were given according to the
printed numbers. “There would be a punishment for personnel who
engaged in such activities, including prosecution for both offering and
accepting bribes.
Cdr Salau emphasized the importance of professionalism
and integrity among the agency’s officers, particularly during the rainy
season when visibility is reduced and road safety is a greater concern
to boost productivity through efficient, loyalty and dedicated to road
safety,
