The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) Commander General and Chief Executive Officer, Prince Dr Abdulfatai Olaseni Ogunyemi has described the agency as a rejected Stone that later become a cornerstone in the state.
He said the agency which was formerly rejected by the residents even the government has now become a pampering baby as it has redeemed the image of the state's name tag 'mortuary state' due to its unrelented working to build public trust, improved access to commerce, reduces road traffic crashes, instill discipline among road users, professionalized traffic officers' carrier to safe lives and property on roads.
Cdr Ogunyemi disclosed this at a press briefing ahead of his retirement as a uniform personnel, coming up on the Friday, June 27, 2025, 20th anniversary of the agency and annual TRACE Commander's conference.
The week-long programme has commenced today – Friday, 20th June, 2025 with church service by 10am at TRACE Headquarters, former OGTV building, Ajebo in Abeokuta, following by Jumat service by 2pm at the same premises mosque.
According to the traffic management expert, TRACE safety walk will hold on
Saturday, 21st June, at MKO Abiola Sports Arena by 8am, following by 20th anniversary symposium on Wednesday 25th June, at Valley-View Auditorium by 8am. 19th annual TRACE Commander's Conference at same venue.
The grand finale which is pull-out parade is scheduled for Friday, 27th June at the agency's headquarters, former OGTV building in Ajebo, Abeokuta.
Cdr Ogunyemi applauded the state government for its passion, patronage and unwavering efforts towards entrenching safety of lives and property on Ogun 18 major traffic corridors.
While praising the agency's personnel for efficient and undiluted discipline, charging them for continuity for sustainability.
He charged the incoming leadership to remain focused, commitment and sustained the vision of protecting lives and properties on roads. Safer road and fuller lives should be an individual responsibility, Cdr Ogunyemi added.
