Baba Ahmed and Atiku
Outspoken leader of the Northern Elder Forum, Hakeem Baba Ahmed who
recently resigned from his position as Adviser to president Bola Ahmed
Tinubu on political matters, has enjoined former vice president Atiku
Abubakar to reconsider his 2027 presidential ambition.
Similarly, he maintains that Atiku Abubakar should not contest in 2027 but play a fatherly role to a younger candidate who he said will have an edge over the incumbent aged, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In his words: “if I were to have a chat with Atiku, the Waziri of Adamawa state, I would say, sir, you have done your bit, you have held the democratic process. Your name has been written in gold. You have been persistent. It’s time you yield the ground; yield the position to a younger person. Don’t run. Play the father role”.
Hakeem Baba Ahmed had explained that his resignation from his position in Tinubu’s government is due to the Tinubu’s administration inaction and lack of genuine focus and effort to tackle Nigeria’s numerous challenges. He claimed that his personality detest docility and ineptitude which characterize the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. He claims that Tinubu’s government do not have the needed commitment to tackle enormous issues bedeviling Nigerians
