OGD Gives Plenty, Rounds Off LGs Tour With Massive Empowerment, Child Support, Earns Votes Of Confidence

OGD concludes Gateway Movement Open House tour across Ogun East LGs with empowerment, child support, and vote of confidence

Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) has concluded his nine-local government Open House Reunion meetings of the Gateway Movement in Omu, Odogbolu Local Government Area, with far-reaching empowerment initiatives and widespread commendations from constituents.

At the grand finale, a lady who had earlier received a full scholarship from the Gateway Front Foundation (GFF) for her daughter; from primary school through university, was further supported with a one-year cash equivalent of child support care.

This support builds on the two-year assistance already extended to the family.

Over 40 beneficiaries also received the GFF Loyalty ATM Cards, designed to give them access to emergency and palliative funds.

Additionally, hundreds of bags of rice and school exercise books were distributed to ease economic pressures on families across the district.

“The Gateway Movement is about sustainable support, not just politics,” Senator Daniel said.

“We’re empowering lives directly and immediately.”

The meeting in Omu marked the final leg of a district-wide initiative launched in February 2025, covering all nine LGAs of Ogun East.

Each event featured town hall-style engagement with students, market women, traditional rulers, and community leaders.

Empowerments during the tour included small business support, vocational training, eye care treatments and surgeries, and community-based child welfare interventions.

Each local government benefitted from a tailored outreach programmes.

Resounding votes of confidence in Senator Daniel’s performance were passed during the meetings.

Constituents praised his ongoing efforts in legislative advocacy for the creation of Ijebu State, the establishment of the South West Development Commission, the proposed College of Aviation in Akaka, the College of Health Sciences in Ijebu Ode, and the Naval Base and Nursing School in Abigi.

Community leaders also commended Senator Daniel for facilitating Dangote Group’s construction of a specialised concrete highway linking Lekki-Epe to Ijebu Ode.

The Ijebu Ode-Omu section, now at 80% completion, is expected to catalyse economic and residential growth along the new corridor to Nigeria’s Lekki deep-sea port.

With the successful conclusion of the Open House meetings, Senator Daniel reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and legislative service.
