Impeachment: I’m Still Your Speaker, Oluomo Chides Ogun Assembly After Sack

The crisis rocking the Ogun State House of Assembly took a new dimension on Friday night with the impeached Speaker, Hon. Olakunle Oluomo declared that he still remains the Speaker.

Oluomo representing Ifo State Constituency 1 was sacked from office on Tuesday, January 23, by 18 lawmakers over alleged gross misconduct and Hon. Oludaisi Elemide was elected as the new Speaker to replace him.

However, Oluomo broke his silence on the impeachment saga, declaring that the action of the 18 lawmakers was “unconstitutional, null, void and of no effect whatsoever.”

The embattled Oluomo who addressed the press in his Legislative Quarters residence, Ibara GRA Abeokuta on Friday, January 26, revealed that he has approached the court for adjudication on the matter.
