Polls:Tony Elumelu,Nigeria’s Most Admired Business Leader …Dangote, Chukwuma Emerge 2nd And 4th Respectively

Mr. Tony Elumelu, Chairman of UBA Plc and Heirs Holdings, has emerged as the most admired business leader in Nigeria in a national survey conducted by a Lagos- based national publication, The Top10 Magazine.

The leading Nigerian monthly magazine known for celebrating excellence in various fields of endeavour had recently initiated a contest titled “The Top10 Magazine Most Admired Business Leaders Survey” to pick the most admired business leader in Nigeria. The exercise which was conducted through an online survey on The Top10 Magazine website www.thetop10magazine.com.ng, provided an opportunity for members of the public to vote for their most admired business leader in Nigeria among twelve nominees made up of distinguished frontline business leaders considered as the biggest players in the Nigerian economy.

After about one month of voting between June 1 to June 30 2023, Elumelu came 1st with 2,642 votes, representing 22.6% of total votes of 11,712 cast.
Alh. Aliko Dangote, president of the Dangote group came 2nd with 2,462 votes representing 21.0% while Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, chairman of Innoson motors came 3rd with 2,400 votes representing 20.5%. Jim Ovia of Zenith bank plc came 4th with 1,880 representing 16.1%. Femi Otedola of Geregu power came 5th with 780 votes representing 6.7% and Mike Adenuga of Globacom group came 6th with 601 votes representing 5.1%. Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, founder of FAMFA Oil and the only woman in the nominee list came 7th with 289 votes representing 2.5%. The remaining percentage of the votes is shared among the remaining five nominees with different scores.

According to a statement by the Publisher of The Top10 Magazine, Mr. Tony Iji, “the objective of the initiative is to gauge the public appeal of the respective business leaders on how they are being perceived by members of the public.

The statement further said that The Top10 Magazine will publish a special edition on the winner, Tony Elumelu, to chronicle the variables that endear him to the people as Nigeria’s most admired business leader.

The magazine also plans to honour him with the award of the most admired business leader in Nigeria.
