Police Bust Operation Of 3 Fleeing Suspected Armed Robbers In Ogun Community



The law of retribution has caught up with three members of an armed robbery gang terrorizing Ewekoro in Ogun State.

The gang, four in number, were said to had invaded Apomu Community in Ewekoro on March 13, dispossessing residents of their valuables, following which a distress call was made to the Ewekoro Police Division.


In a press release issued by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, he stated that, “Upon the distress call, the DPO Ewekoro division, CSP Jacob Olayemi, quickly mobilized his patrol team and moved to the scene”.

According to the release, on sighting the operatives, the hoodlums bolted and were hotly chased.



 

“With the assistance of members of the community, three amongst the hoodlums were arrested”, Oyeyemi said, adding that, a locally-fabricated double-barrel pistol, five live cartridges, one expended cartridge, were recovered from them.

Also recovered were their operational motorcycles; a Bajaj and a TVS, with with registration numbers TTN 975 VU and JBD 353 W, respectively, as well as some criminal charms.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, has ordered them to be transferred to state Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.
