The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has told the former Governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi that he constructed the road that leads to his house and did other significant projects in the community of the former Governor of the state. Governor Nyesom Wike made the statement after a comment that was made by the former Minister of Transportation about him.
You will recall that on Wednesday, Rotimi Amaechi in a statement disclosed that during his administration he constructed roads and built flyovers in Rivers State without making noise. Rotimi Amaechi was the Governor of Rivers State between 2007 and 2015, the incumbent Governor was his Chief of Staff before he handed over to him.
For some time now, there has been a rift between the two leaders in Rivers State, especially, after Rotimi Amaechi became a member of the ruling APC party. Many people in Rivers State, regard Governor Nyesom Wike as the “project governor”. In the statement on Saturday, Governor Nyesom Wike also disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has given a distinguished Award in Project Delivery.
