Egbeda Birthday Shooting Accidental, Culprit Not on Official Duty – Lagos Police

The Lagos Command has said that a shooting incident, which claimed the lives of two persons in the Egbeda area of Lagos State, was accidental.

The Command made the disclosure through a statement titled RE: SHOOTING INCIDENT AT BIRTHDAY PARTY IN EGBEDA by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), adding that investigations are still ongoing to unravel the circumstances that led to the whole scenario.

The PPRO, who spoke on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, noted that while a manhunt has been instituted for the organiser of the birthday party, the killer-cop, Inspector Mohammed Hussini, serving at the state headquarters, Ikeja, will soon surrender himself.

It was also revealed the officer, who was not at the party on official assignment, was a friend to the celebrant, simply identified as Ifeanyi.

The statement also quoted the CP as saying that appropriate punishments according to the provisions of the law will be meted out to everyone found culpable in the unfortunate incident
