Police Arrest 13-Year-Old Suspected Kidnapper, Two Others



The Edo State Police Command has arrested a suspected 13-year-old kidnapper, Destiny Osevaru, and his 18-year-old accomplice, Godstime Obioko, in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of the state.
The command also arrested one Oliver Jamker, a male, from Ughelli, Delta State over alleged kidnapping.
The command in a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bello Kantongos, said on December 28, 2021 at about 1pm, eight-year-old Testimony Akioyame was taken to the Uromi police divisional headquarters by a good Samaritan, who informed the police that he found her tied down in an uncompleted building at Erue community.
 
The PRO said the police immediately acted on the information and were able to arrest Obioko and Osevaru, who confessed to abducting the girl and tied her in an uncompleted building. He noted that her abductors left her to charge their phone so they could contact her parents. However, on their return, the girl has been rescued.
“The suspect confessed they planned to demand N500,000 from the parents before she was rescued. Investigation is still ongoing, the suspects will soon be charged to court when investigation is concluded,” the statement added. (Courtesy The PUNCH)
