The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Thursday assumed a new name known as President Omowale Muhammadu Buhari during a One Day visit to Ogun State at Abeokuta, the state capital. 

The President who expressed his delight in being hosted in the state said the new name 'Omowale' was very befitting due to his repeated coming to the state as military and civilian personality, adding "I hope Year 2022 will bring all of us good tidings

According to President Omowale Muhammadu Buhari, he did his military infantry brigade training in Abeokuta many years ago and since then he had had many causes to come and work in Ogun State several times. 

The state Governor Dapo Abiodun during his welcome speech had earlier christiened the President "Omowale", saying the President repeated visits to the state has promoted him from being a visitor to an indegene of the state. 

"You have been to the state several times and you are no longer a visitor, so we are not welcoming you as a visitor but as an indegene who has now returned home after many years of sojourn. You are therefore being addressed as President Omowale Muhammadu Buhari".
