Ooni’s leadership role helpful, says Tinubu

 



APC stalwart hails him at 47


 The leadership role being played by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has been helpful to the development of Nigeria, All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, said yesterday.

Tinubu’s commendation was contained his congratulatory message to the foremost royal father, who turned 47 yesterday.

The former Lagos governor said Ooni’s leadership role in Yorubaland and beyond as well as his energy and dynamism have been helpful.

In a statement by his Media Office signed by Mr. Tunde Rahman, the former Lagos governor said: “I congratulate Ooni of Ife, Kabiyesi, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II as he turns 47.

“Oba Ogunwusi is an eminent traditional ruler. His leadership role in Osun State, Yorubaland and across the country is noteworthy.

“Since his ascension to the throne in 2015, he has demonstrated his love for peace and unity. As co-Chairman of National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, Ooni has continued to work assiduously for peace, stability and unity of the country.

“I particularly commend his energy and dynamism. These are qualities that have proved helpful in nation-building. Ooni of Ife is also a known advocate for the empowerment and emancipation of women and young people, a project to which he is totally committed.

“My prayer for the royal father on this occasion of his 47th birthday is that God Almighty grant him many more years on the throne, good health and renewed strength to continue to help in maintaining unity within the Yoruba race and in Nigeria generally.”
