Four Abeokuta in-bound weekend travellers, including a 10 year old boy and a tricyclist, Marwa rider were killed early morning Saturday when their Toyota Sienna car crashed into a brown Ford truck and a yellow tricycle at Gudugba road-bend, Ewekoro along Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway. 

An eyewitness who spoke to the TheCaveat.info said the driver of the Sienna car with Reg. No. KRD, 900 GV who must have been heavily drunk, suddenly lost control and crashed into the oncoming Ford with Reg. No. AAAB 439 XB, which inturn rammed into a Yellow Tricycle with Reg. No. AKM 791 VP. 

The accident left three males and four females out of the 10 passengers on board the Sienna car critically injured and were being attended to by officials of TRACE, from Area Command 9, Ifo Local Government of the state when our Correspondent got there. 

Confirming the story, the TRACE Area Commander 9, Commander Akinkunmi Ebun-Oluwa said TRACE and Police operatives arrived the scene of the accident early enough to rescue the injured. 

 She said she could not ascertain the present health status of the injured, adding that they had been  rushed to the  General hospital Ifo while the corpses of the dead deposited at the Ifo morgue. 

Commander Akinkunmi enjoined driver to heed TRACE Corps Commander's usual warning of shunning attitude that can lead to accident, such as drunkenness, overspeep, wrongful overtaking, false belief in juju that prompt overconfidence leading to over speed. 

She said drivers should imbibe the culture of driving to safety and avoid anything promoting the contrary, especially in these 'ember months.
