Two court orders stare main opposition party in the face. Which one should the distressed party obey?
A High Port-Harcourt Court order has suspended Prince Uche Secondus as national chairman. The suspended chairman ran to Kebbi State and got another judgment from a Birin-Kebbi High Court.
There is confusion. Why should two high courts give contradictory judgments on the same matter?
Next week, it is evident that the pro-Secondus and anti-Secondus fighters in the crisis-ridden Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will return to the temple of justice to clear the peculiar mess. Much energy will be devoted to crisis, instead of rebuilding a party that is ebbing away.
The two camps competing for the soul of the party are gazing at 2023.
It is imperative that a camp should edge the other out, ahead of the convention and presidential nomination. After that, a hurried, hypocritical reconciliation would be packaged to forge a semblance of cohesion, shortly before the general elections.
