The leaders of the committees in charge of the funeral of the Head of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Senior Prophet T. B. Joshua have established the reason why the succession plan for the late man of God is stalling. They revealed this information during the press conference attended by pressmen in which they unveiled the funeral arrangements of the clergyman yesterday in Lagos.
According to Dr. Gary Gonge, who addressed journalists on behalf of the church, emphasized that the issue of succession is not an administrative issue but more of a spiritual issue. ‘This is one of the questions that cannot be answered in a human way. One of the things that Prophet T. B. Joshua said was that God’s anointing cannot be worked by plans, measures, and machinery. But about suitable people and the move of the Holy Spirit so there is simply no administrative comment to this question because it is not an administrative issue.’

‘On succession, until you get an official statement, disregard any word that is flying around. The ministry SCOAN continues and that includes reaching out. The services continue in the appropriate form they have been on as directed by the Holy Spirit.’
Unveiling the plans for the funeral, the committee leaders noted that it will be a week-long ceremony spanning from the 5th – 11th July but will be limited public gathering since the world is in the middle of a public health situation. ‘There will be a candlelight procession and the members of the press who applied to cover the event will get the details. The procession is not open to the general public. The place of interment is here in the church in Lagos on Friday 9th at 10 a.m.’

‘We are working with the Lagos State Government, police, road safety, vigilante corps, DSS, and others for security and crowd control. We are cooperating with Lagos State Government to maintain safety in accordance with procedures of COVID-19 in collaboration with NCDC and Lagos Ministry of Health. We will make arrangements with NURTW to give us permission to close the First Gate so that there will be diversion to Ladiwura from the 5th – 11th. In addition, we will be working with Lagos State Safety Commission to ensure that all regulations and protocols are heeded.’
On how people all over the world can be a part of the funeral rites of the the globally celebrated preacher, they remarked: ‘We wish to say that the programme for the week is for everybody but because of the times that we are in, not everyone can be allowed physically to the event. Those who will be on ground are majorly those who have specifics to do with the programme and members of the church. For the world, the programme would be broadcast live on Emmanuel TV, Facebook, and select media will also cover the programme. We are working with relevant state actors for crowd control. SCOAN is a responsible corporate citizen so there will be limited physical presence.’
