There was a mysterious fire outbreak in the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), barely an hour after the commencement of candlelight funeral service for the church's founder, late Prophet Temitope Joshua.
SCOAN, on Monday evening, July 5, 2021, kicked off week-long funeral rites of its influential late founder Prophet T.B Joshua who died on Saturday, June 5.
The candlelight it was further learnt had over 5000 attendants from all over the world and strictly with invitation as some church members were not permitted to access the prayer mountain where the candlelight funeral was held.
The ugly incident at the storehouse within the SCOAN complex at about 11pm. It was caused by an electrical fault, but was quickly put out before officials from the Lagos State Fire Services arrived at the scene.
The inferno, this media outfit learnt caused pandemonium within the church as members who came to pay their last respects to the late prophet were seen running into safe areas.
Nobody has either been reported dead or injured as a result of the sudden inferno and the extent of damage to the facility is yet unknown.
The candlelight funeral procession was led by the late Prophet’s wife Mrs. Evelyn TB Joshua.
Those who allowed to partake in the candlelight had to pulled off their shoes and walked barefooted during the funeral service.
TB Joshua, a prominent Nigerian televangelist died hours after presiding over a program at his Lagos-based megachurch on Saturday, June 5, 2021 and a week to his 58th birthday.
The renowned preacher was known with his philanthropy, prosperity teachings, purported healings and miracles. His legacies will continue to linger on.
