 OGUN TO RECRUIT TEACHERS UNDER SPECIAL INTERVENTION SCHEME

Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has disclosed that it will flag-off the Ogun State Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel (Ogun TEACh), a special intervention scheme designed by the Ministry in conjunction with the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), to fill the existing vacancies in the Public Primary/Secondary Schools and Technical Colleges in the State.

A release signed by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu indicated that interested applicants should possess; National Certificate on Education (NCE) with minimum of merit in the teaching subjects, B.A (Ed/Bsc (Ed)/B.Ed) with minimum of second class lower division in teaching subjects, while those with B.A/B.sc in any of the Primary/Secondary school subjects must possess Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from reputable Universities, and B.Tech (Ed)/B.sc (Tech)/ B.Eng./B.Tech/B.sc/HND for Technical Colleges only.

Arigbabu enjoined interested applicants to apply through the Ogun State Jobs Portal by logging into www.teach.ogunstate.gov.ng and the period of online registration would be between Wednesday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 13, 2021.

He noted that successful applicants who are to be addressed as TEACh interns would be deployed to Local Government Areas in dire need of their services and be given stipends on monthly basis for a period of two years.

The Commissioner stated further that successful interns would be assessed on parameters, ranging from expertise, commitment to duty, punctuality, respect to constituted authority, willingness to work, among others, adding that the outstanding interns might be considered for full employment after the expiration of their internship, if opportunity arises.
