But for the Economy I Won’t Press Charges Against Arrested Looters — Sen. Folarin

The lawmaker representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Teslim Folarin has revealed that he has no plan to charge those arrested in connection with the stealing of multi -million naira empowerment materials at his house.

OYOINSIGHT.COM recalls that Folarin’s home was burgled by hoodlums in the wake of the violence that followed the killings of EndS ARS protesters in Lekki.

The hoodlums carted away about 300 motorcycles , freezers, power generating sets and grinding machines meant for a December mega empowerment in his constituency.

Speaking in Ibadan on Friday, Folarin explained that his decision not to press charges was in consideration of the biting economic situation in the country.

“We are working hard to ensure that we distribute empowerment materials as planned.

“We are not interested in arresting anybody . The country is very difficult . There were two categories of people that came ; first , the people that masterminded it and the passersby who saw it and resorted to looting.

“ We are not trying to justify looting but let’ s just hope they use it well . We are not pressing charges against those that looted the empowerment materials in my residence, ” he said.
