The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, temporarily cealed off the entrance of C-Way Company on Iyana Ilogbo yesterday, following haphazard parking of trucks on the road causing road blocks and untold traffic bottle-neck.

Information gathered during the operation, TRACE Area Commander, Ota, Ajibade Adekunle said it has become a daily exercise to clear Ilogbo road of haulage/logistic trucks working for Coca-cola and C-WAY companies.


He said residents and road users of the communities bestriding the road have over time been expressing displeasure and making distress calls to the agency clamouring for a permanent solution to the menacing attitudes of the companies and their truckers causing them untold hardships commuting to and fro on the road.

According to Ajibade, Alhaji Lawal Wasiu, Chaiman, Ado Odo Ota Local government chairman, had on several occasions called on him to do everything possible to clear these trucks and find a permanent solution to the daily traffic imbroglio occasioned by these trucks.

Reacting to questions at the scene of the operations, Ajibade said, he personally took the decision to ceal off the C-Way entrance for some hours to drive some sense of sanity in the authorities of the company on the axis.


"Our office has been inundated with complaints about irresponsible attitudes of the company in respect of haphazard parking of their trucks blocking the road. 

"I personally took the initiative of cealing off their entrance after consulting with necessary authorities. I ordered that we seal off the gate of the company to prevent traffic in and out of the companies for a period of some hours to drive home our displeasure to their recalcitrant posture.

"I took this decision after TRACE has held series of meetings with the C-Way and Coca-Cola companies as well as a tripitite meeting with Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN and the two companies concerned.

"We came again today after receiving a distress call from the local government chairman, that trucks have once again blocked the Ilogbo road causing traffic bedlam and making many to either abandon their vehicles or jump out from commercial vehicles to trek.

"I have stopped vehicular traffic into and out of C-WAY, to drive home our displeasure and will be repeated if the need arises again


We will still ceal their entrance for a whole day if this little measure does not have a strong bite on them and move on to ceal it for days if they still prove adamant to correction.

As at the time of filing this report, the management are jittery, with some members approaching the Area Commander with appeals to rescind their action, but he insisted the company should feel a pintch of the hardship the users of the road feel on daily basis.
