Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, wants Nigerian youths to embrace
peace and give the Federal Government the opportunity to effectively
address issues relating to End SARS protest.
Speaking with newsmen in
Abuja, the Commandant General of VGN, Doctor Mohammed Usman Jahun
appealed to aggrieved protesters to give peace a chance and put an end
to wanton destruction of public facilities to avert economic
consequences on Nigerians.
Doctor Usman Jahun said the action would inflict pains on Nigerians working in the affected places and lead to loss of jobs.
While
calling on Government to respond softly to calm the situation, the
Commandant General of VGN stressed the need for security Agencies to
fish out those personnel that shot at youths carrying out peaceful
protest in Lagos State.
While commiserating with the victims, Doctor
Usman Jahun advised the Federal Government to compile names of the
victims and compensate families of those affected across the Country.
According
to him, Vigilante Group of Nigeria will continue to support efforts
aimed at ensuring effective security of lives and property in the
country.
He therefore appealed to all Nigerians irrespective of
religion, ethnic and political affiliations to support President
Muhammadu Buhari’s Administration towards achieving his developmental
programmes for the country.
He also emphasized the need for politicians to be committed to the continuous corporate existence of the country.
While
calling on all religious groups not to relent in praying for the
country, Doctor Usman Jahun expressed the hope that Nigeria would soon
overcome her challenges and take its rightful place among comity of
nations.
