MAJOR REASONS TRUMP REJECTED OKONJO-IWEALA AS WTO DG AND WHY SHE BELIEVE IN VICTORY

Having recieved the information of the Earstwhile Global economists Mrs Ngozi Okonjo Iweala though of Nigerian descent to have been elected massively to become not only the Director General of the World Trade Organisation but first female personality to be duly considered for that esteemed global position. When the news broke out, it spread like wildfire across the country, with top celebrities and politicians sending messages of congratulations to her.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala who was the Minister for Finance under Goodluck Jonathan's administration was said to have emerged the winner, after winning the battle with her closest rival, Yoo Myung - hee who is the South Korean Current Trade Minister, in a battle on Monday Night.

Her emergence as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization made Nigeria proud. She is also the first female and African to emerge as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization.

However, the story seems to be a different one at the early hours of today, when the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump rejected her appointment as the new Director-General of the World Trade Organization ( W.T.O ).

As reported by Sahara Reporters, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala had the votes of 163 out of the 164 members of the Trade Organization. Despite winning with a wide margin, Donald Trump insisted that she is not fit for the appointment. He stated that the appointment should be given to her closest rival, Yoo Myung - hee.

Trump rejected Ngozi Okonjo Iweala's appointment based on the fact that she lacked experience and procedural issues required by the World Trade Organization, for effectiveness.

Trump-backed up his claim with the evidence that the South Korean Current Trade Minister, Yoo Myung - hee had more working experience of 25 years than Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. He further stated that Yoo Myung hee had worked in several trade institutions as a trade policymaker, and she has all the required skills.

Some hours after Donald Trump rejected her appointment as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala shared a tweet via her Twitter account. This tweet contained sensible words that could make Donald Trump have a second thought, thereby enabling her emergence as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala shared via her Twitter account @NOIweala a tweet expressing her gratitude as the candidate with the largest vote in the Trade Organization.

She also encouraged herself by promising to keep up the good work. According to her, the final date for the appointment is on the 9th of November, 2020.
