When the head is in good condition, without doubt,other bodies functions well, taking cue from Customs Boss Adeniyi Adewale, The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command, has recorded its highest-ever single-day revenue collection of N28.1 billion, surpassing its previous record of N20.1 billion achieved in September 2025.
In a viggorious and dutiful daily routines, The Command generated N28,102,000,914.61 on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by its Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs Isah Sulaiman.
The latest performance comes barely weeks after the Apapa Command recorded a monthly revenue collection of N323 billion in July 2026, its highest monthly collection to date.
The Command attributed the sustained increase in revenue to ongoing reforms, improved compliance by stakeholders, enhanced trade facilitation, intelligence-driven interventions and greater efficiency in digital Customs processes.
The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, said the latest milestone went beyond breaking revenue records, stressing that the Service’s collections contribute to government resources used to finance infrastructure, security, education, healthcare and other public services.
Oshoba dedicated the achievement to the Federal Government and Nigerians, while commending the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the management of the Service for their support for automation, modernisation and reforms.
He also acknowledged the contribution of compliant importers, exporters, licensed Customs agents and other stakeholders, as well as Nigerians who provide actionable intelligence to the Service.
According to him, legitimate and compliant transactions are critical to strengthening government revenue and creating an environment conducive to business growth.
The CAC, however, warned officers and men of the Command against complacency, urging them to regard the new revenue record as a responsibility to improve performance.

He directed personnel to balance revenue generation with trade facilitation, professionalism, transparency and respect for stakeholders.
Oshoba also instructed officers to ensure that legitimate disputes are resolved promptly and that Customs procedures do not unnecessarily impede lawful businesses.
The Apapa Area Command said it would continue to pursue higher revenue generation while strengthening trade facilitation, professionalism and collaboration with stakeholders.
The Command maintained that every legitimate revenue collected enhances the government’s capacity to finance development priorities and improve the welfare of Nigerians.
